Our History
The Clear Lake FFA Chapter was established on October 20, 2019. Since then, our chapter has grown immensely, from a mere 30 members to 127 members today. We have participated in a variety of activities and competitions that have helped shape and strengthen our chapter. Although we are a fairly new chapter, we continue to push boundaries and strive to accomplish more every day.

In the FFA, there are different levels of memberships called degrees students can work towards if they are committed to being an active members and have a strong Supervised Agricultural Experience Project. At the chapter level, we can bestow green hand degrees to first-year members and chapter degrees to second-year members. Then members have the opportunity to work towards their Iowa FFA degree…an honor less than 5% of Iowa FFA members receive. To receive their state degree, members had to meet the following requirements:
-
Have completed the equivalent of two years of agricultural education instruction
-
Have a satisfactory scholastic record
-
Productively earn or invest $1500, work 375 hours, or a combination of the two in their Supervised Agricultural Experience projects
-
Participate in five above the chapter level FFA events or activities
-
Complete 25 hours of community service in at least two different projects
